This kit has a Ballscrew on the X and the Z Axis .
The installation is simple, but requires a careful attention to the details of hole-placement. It is well within the scope of abilities of anyone with a realistic objective to learn CNC. It requires drilling and tapping 9 holes and opening up another for clearance in the saddle , cross slide and bed end area . These new tapped holes are larger and stronger than the original which will omit movement and make for a good solid mount .
All install information is sent tru e-mail If you are unable to do the hole patterns in the saddle and cross slide contact me . Due to the design of the X axis it will require to be unassembled and reassembled to go tru the lathe saddle hole . I have some very good picture instructions that covers all of this .This kit will come ready to install on your 7 X 16 model sieg lathe once you get the holes added that are required to mount this kit . This kit is constructed from machined aluminum parts which features an attractive machine finish that looks Great on this setup. The bearings are high quality, and sealed for longevity. Both Axis designs have a 1204 mm ball screw with a New 1204mm Ball screw Design for the X Axis . The CNC Flexible Plum Coupling 1/4 Shaft Couplers are included with the kit. The kit will arrive pre assembled and ready for installation on the 7 x 16 length bed Sieg models.. The X axis will require a final assembly into your saddle after the mounting holes are done .
This kit allows you to retain manual control of the Lathe , providing that dual-shaft motors are used.
The Threading function if needed can be made possible by installing a spindle encoder design of your choice . I do not sale any electronics ,encoders , ect .
This kit will work Great with NEMA 23 size stepper motors 1/4 SHAFT ( 270oz ) range motors as are used in the video demos in this listing . ( THE LATHE , CONTROLLER AND STEPPER MOTORS ARE NOT INCLUDED AND ARE FOR DISPLAY & DEMO ONLY ) which can be purchased together or separate with a controller kit . This kit is crafted with care by an experienced tool and die maker to provide years of service for any enterprising individual that wishes to explore CNC and or make useful parts on a really great little machine. The kit includes all mounting hardware necessary for installation, and uses existing holes for mounting whenever possible, but does require drilling and tapping of some of them, as it would be impractical to design the kit around the hole placement of the manual parts..
